Our Body Ecology
Intuitive Therapeutic Massage
Ecology is the study of the relationship between organisms and their environment.
I believe that our bodies are ecosystems of interdependent parts, always in a relational dance with each other in order to support the whole in thriving. Think of your blood as the soil, your fascia as the root system, your nervous system as mycelium, your breath as photosynthesizing. All of these parts are always seeking a sense of equilibrium or balance. Yet in today’s world we must navigate many external factors that chip away at our ability to return and rest in this balance.
In my work, I think of myself as a body ecologist.
I’m here to support your ecosystem in remembering and restoring that sense of equilibrium.
I take in your health history, what you say in our pre-session check in, as well as your whole bodily ecosystem--your fascia, muscles, breath, and energy--and allow it to tell me where to go, what to work on and how to do that work.
My sessions are also an invitation to become your own body ecologist. I consider my practice to be a space where you can receive regular, present and attuned touch, in order to remember and restore a more loving and attuned relationship with your own body ecosystem.
